At CYP, we are convinced that our educational design forms the basis for the learning success of apprentices in banking. For this reason, we have continuously developed and optimised the modules and teaching methods in the inter-company commercial banking apprenticeship courses over the past 20 years.

## Educational design adapted to modern neuroscience and pedagogy Learning that works

We have updated the CYP educational design in line with the latest pedagogical and scientific findings. Leading experts in the behavioural sciences accompanied and supported us for three years. 

Neuroscientific findings show how the brains of young people process and store information. These findings, as well as other scientific principles, have been incorporated into our educational design. At the same time, we have used pedagogically harmonised methods to ensure that the content of the modules is conveyed in an understandable, motivating and practical way.

## Teaching at CYP: Humanistic values meet modern educational design

Teaching and learning at CYP are characterised by a humanistic attitude. We are convinced that every person has an innate desire to develop and learn. For us, education is both a lifelong process and a concrete goal that can be achieved. But how do we put this understanding into practice at CYP?

Our ‘Guidelines on our understanding of education’ form the theoretical basis and reflect our pedagogical values. The practical implementation is described in the revised ‘Educational Design’. On site, our experienced trainers play a central role: with well-thought-out ‘scripts’ that have been specially developed for the respective educational modules, they make the lessons interactive, practical and sustainable. In this way, we create an inspiring learning environment that fulfils both the individual needs of the apprentices and the requirements of modern banking.

# Our guidelines for understanding education: learning with a focus on people, skills and concepts 

At CYP, we have addressed three key questions in order to optimise our understanding of education:

1. Who learns? (participants)
2. How learning takes place (concept) 
3. What is learnt (skills)

These three pillars - participants, concept and competences - form the basis of our educational design. However, they should not be viewed in isolation but embedded in an overarching context.

In order to guarantee the highest standards, our educational design is continuously reviewed by a comprehensive quality management system. Regular analyses and targeted adjustments ensure that our content, methods and processes always meet the latest requirements - both from a pedagogical and a practical professional perspective.

# Educational design determines success in the classroom

The CYP educational design aims to organise the modules in such a way that they not only reach the apprentices, but also inspire them in the long term. Clearly structured processes, practical examples and interactive methods create a motivating learning atmosphere that is fun and leads to success. 

It describes how we implement our guidelines in practice and comprises three dimensions: Module structure, trainers and methods (learning methods).

## Scripts for the lessons

The scripts developed specifically for the modules illustrate the concrete implementation of our educational design and serve as a guide for our trainers when teaching. They are a key element in ensuring the quality and uniformity of our training programmes for all apprentices. Regardless of whether participants take part in the courses in Lausanne, Vezia or Zurich, everyone benefits from the same high-quality learning experience.
